Established alternative asset managers, Trafalgar, chose Living Designs to undertake a review of its visual identity and inject a consistent approach across its marketing materials.

Challenge
There were two key challenges to this project. The first was to establish the current key values and vision of the business, so we could ascertain the foundation for our design brief and understand how the business had grown. The second was to audit the current marketing materials so we could appreciate how the new brand would be used and so deliver not only a best of breed visual identity, but also practical tools for the investor relations team.

Solution
Our consultancy team worked closely with the key stakeholders in the business to establish an accurate design brief that provided a clear route forward for all parties. The strength of this document enabled us to deliver a meaningful visual identity, backed up with a strong rationale that was chosen immediately by the founding partners. The logo symbolises the journey of trade, the points along the journey and its entrance and exit points. To support the logo a consistent colour palette, typographic style and image library was developed and a set of visual identity guidelines produced to ensure the accuracy of future work.

Result
The launch of the visual brand coincided with the move to new offices and we assisted with a variety of activities from an e-moving card, through to multiple fund reports and presentations. Trafalgar Asset Managers have continued to build their business through improved investor communications and became winners of the Hedge Fund Review, Multi-Strategy Fund of the Year 2008.
