Observations on the Implementation of IFRS

2005 saw the implementation of IFRS by more than 8,000 listed companies throughout the European Union and its incorporation into the national accounting standards of other countries such as Australia.

Challenge
Ernst & Young reviewed the financial statements of some of the largest global companies, to see how they have applied the newly introduced International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Their comprehensive findings, which assessed the degree of consistency and comparability among companies, needed to be published and circulated to a global audience including clients and internal Ernst & Young offices.

Solution
Living Designs worked closely with Ernst & Young over a six week period to create an indepth 200 page publication.

The document featured extracts from annual reports and high volumes of statistical information which was presented in a clear and concise way. Imagery and colours were also used to aid navigation through the five sections.

Living Designs designed and managed all stages of the project including the delivery of 10,000 copies worldwide.

Result
The document was released to critical acclaim and has become one of the most successful and talked about in the client’s history.

As a direct result Ernst & Young has become the key trusted adviser on IFRS in the professional services’ marketplace.
